Default Can't get Video Signal, Power supply problem?

I've somehow incapacitated 2 computers. Neither will give their monitors a video signal.

First, I took some of my old hardware (e8400, ram, mobo) took out the motherboard of an older pc, and put the core2 duo parts in. this system has a 380w Antec earthwatts PSU.

then I took the Nvidia 9600gt out of another system with a 500watt Antec earthwatts PSU, and put it in the one with the 380w and e8400. I couldnt get a video signal. So I tried another monitor and that didnt work. I tried swapping in the 500w psu, and that didnt work. i tried an old pci graphics card, and that didnt work. I put the 500w power supply back in the pc I took it from, and now I get no video signal from that pc... that pc has an nvidia 7300 in it....

What could I have done wrong?

Sorry for making you repeate yourself, but it'd help me and others troubleshoot if we had a better picture about which hardware came from what and went where. As i understand it....

PC # 1 had a 380 watt psu, you took out old parts and put in the new e8400, ram, mobo, and 9600gt from a second pc and it didnt work?

So now, after swaping out differnet psus and screens, PC #1 doesn't work and PC #2 doesnt work either after putting the 9600gt back?

have you triple-checked all the connections? what happens when you turn either pc on? do the fans kick on and leds light up? do you get a post beep?

I want to pair up the 9600gt with the e8400, so i bought a 7300 for the system w/ the 500watt power supply

i plugged the 9600 gt into my main pc, and it loaded up fine. even with nothing plugged in, and just the cpu installed, the computer won't post. the fans spin on the cpu or videocard, but no video. also, the keyboard doesn't light up and no noise or beeps are made by the computer.

With the 500 watt pc, there is no video, but i hear a beep and it sounds like its loading normally, just no video -_-
