random power on of ( psu )
i have an old computer that i got from a car boot sale ( yard sale ) from oldcoats uk. I got this computer home and plugged it in and plugged in mouse, monitor, keyboard, all that stuff...so I tuned on the computer and the screen come up the computer post ok.
so I booted in to xp..ok...2mins later computer restarts for no reason, on of on of on of on of on of ,just like that the psu it making what sounds like an arching noise, it's odd because when you turn the computer on from a cold boot say 40mins or so the thing turns on fine but will not stay on..i do know that it is the psu that is the problem but i thought id just ask to see if you people might know what is happening with it for future reference.

Sounds like an old PSU or possible a bad connector inside, I'd pop it open and check all connections and look for shortages
