I'm working on a clients pc(Emachines T6216,Desktop),It was working fine then it shut down.Tried to restart & no luck,The power light is flashing & when I press it(Nothing).I removed the battery & unplugged it,Then put back battery & plugged it back in.Then it restarts for a couple of seconds,Then turns off & the power light starts flashing again.

It's the PSU,Right?

Often after the CMOS has been cleared, when the computer is powered back on it will go on for a second, off, then back on. So that explains the on off after removing the battery

For good measure, you could try to reseat everything, including RAM, CPU, Gfx (if there's a card)
Also make sure the PSU is connected properly and nothing is loose, double check the 4/8 pin CPU power cable if there is one

Very likely the psu. I've heard that the psu's in those emachines are terrible.
But like the others are saying, reseat everything first, and eliminate everything but the psu.

Well it was Not the PSU,As I thought it was.It has 2 sticks of 256mb.ram,So I pulled 1 out & I have an extra CPU(AMD Athlon 3700+)so I put that in it too.Well it booted & I preceded to install XP,Well everything was working fine,THEN I put the other stick of ram & the CPU(That came with it)back in.It booted in to XP,So I went to install the Updates & it shut down again
I said well **it.But as I started looking real close at the area around the CPU socket,I noticed,That there was like 4 bulging caps.So I guess the motherboard was bad.
So I call the guy & told him & he gave the thing to me.
I gutted it,I put the 3 yr. old Pioneer DVR-112DBK in my wifes pc & put the 160gb. hdd in my old pc as a backup for my music.I'm giving the ram to my sister in law.

This is an Emachine, change the PSU anyway because I guarantee it will burn out. The Caps and hardware failures are the PSU on its way out, cooking stuff.
