Default 500w is enough for the following system?

I am going to buy a new video card for my brother,i am between the gtx260 gainward goldensample 896mb (163e)and the hd4870 1gb vapor-x (151e).His system is:
500w thermaltake toughpower 1 years old
8800gs superclocked by me
E5200 1.280v at 3.0Ghz
P35 mb
2x12cm fans
1x14cm fan
1 cd/dvd combo
1 non-stock cpu cooler
2x2gb ddr2 crucial ballistix 2.0v
couple of usb devices

And now i am wondering which card consumes the least power of the two, which performs better of the two and of course, which one overclocks better!?

That Gainward Golden Sample card should be slightly faster than the Vapor-X. But the GTX260 216 core costs more iirc. I don't know about overclocking limits though.

I read that the Golden Sample does not have 2D/3D clocks so it stays on 3D clocks at all times. Plus it uses a cheaper voltage regulator compared to stock GTX260 216 core.

If you are in the US the vapor X can be had for 145 shipped via newegg.

That toughpower can put out 36 amp on the +12v which is good enough to power the system and either of those GPU's just fine.

To your last questions, well they both pretty much trade blows in all of those categories depending on game/res, etc. They both consume around the same tho the 4870 does consume slightly more at idle, while the GTX slightly more at load. And I've seen some good results from both cards, is the golden sample 55nm or 65nm?
