a 620 will be fine even.....

i run my overclocked quad + 2 HD4870s (well - did) nad before that dual HD3870s off my HX-620
I have seen reviews of up to 740w being pulled from a HX-620 though.....all corsair PSUs are underrated

All Corsair PSUs are rated for their continuous ability to provide that much power. So, while it's accurate to say they're under rated, it's also accurate to say that they're accurately rated for those who want to know what the PSU can do continuously. But some PSU's wattage ratings are the PSU's peak rating. So, there are some PSUs that might say "650W" when that's actually it's peak rating, not it's continuous.

Most of the top-quality PSUs (if not all of them) show their continuous rating instead of the peak while most of the lower quality only show the peak rating. After all, an enthusiast/overclocker needs to know what the PSU would be able to handle 24/7, if it were ever necessary.

Also, I'm glad you mentioned the TX950W. I did not know it even existed! Corsair has been really busy lately! Oh how I love this company!
Hehe, the TX950 is a winner. There's a JonnyGuru review on it.

The thing that I like about the TX950 most: Its heatsink screws are actually screwed in, instead of being loose like all the other CWT models.

For reference, here's who makes each Corsair PSU:

OEM: Channel Well Tech (CWT)
VX550W ~41A
TX750W ~60A
HX750W ~62A
TX850W ~70A
TX950W ~78A
HX850W ~70A
HX1000W ~80A

OEM: Seasonic
CX400W ~30A
VX450W ~33A
HX450W ~33A
HX520W ~40A
HX620W ~50A
HX650W ~52A
TX650W ~52A

The SeaSonics are generally slightly better in terms of quality than their CWT brothers, but the HX series is an exception.

Edit: Here is the review, if you want to read it.

Whoa! How did you acquire this knowledge? And thank you for sharing it with me! w00t! I'm going to add this to my little collection of knowledge that I have obtained from others here on OCN.
