Exclamation Power Issue Becoming Very Frustrating

Hi, My buddie has brought me a Emachine T2824 With a 2.53Ghz Proc(478), With samsung 256mb pc2700 ram, 40gb HDD, and a Dvd-Rom Drive....

Now the issue i seem to have is that there is power to the mobo seeing as the green led stays on when i flip the psu rocker switch, but nothing turns on when i press the power switch, i have tried 3 othe psu's and the same thing happends, i would like to know if the mothherboard has a problem or something else...

By the way the PSU is a 400watt setup pulled from my working computer so i know it is not the psu i have trying for most of this test the other three have also been pulled form working computers but have been sitting, i would not see why they dont work.

So Any insight would be greatly appretiated....

Check the header for the power switch. See if it is plugged into the motherboard correctly or at all.

Are you sure? Did you test for continuity of the switch header? (use a multi-meter)

Or just short/jump the pins on the motherboard that the power header connects to and see if it powers on. If not then it's probably the motherboard. If it does then it's probably the power switch.

take the motherboard out. something may be shorting it. THen use a flathead and short the connection to power the motherboard.
