Anyways, I installed my new PSU, only to find out that the mobo power connectors will not reach! Most of the connectors are modular, but unfortunately these two are not. Has anyone ever soldered in new cables themselves, and if so how difficult is it?

I bought an extension from xoxide Frozencpu.com when my cpu 8 pin wouldn't reach all the way to the top of the board. They sell extensions for everything there, 8 pin, as well as the 20 pin or 24 pin, whichever you are running.

Better just buy extensions.

Mind telling us what components you are using?
you can normally get extensions for just about anything, which connectors are you refering to not reaching? 24-pin ATX? 8-pin cpu power? i know the p6t dv2 and the obsidian play nice with the tagan bz 1100w with room to spare...

Unfortunately I can't return the Enermax PSU as i already resleeved the modular cables (doh). The psu is an enermax evo galaxy, the mobo is a asus p6t deluxe v2, and the case is the corsair obsidian. The 24 pin ATX cable reaches, but is under a lot of strain, and the 8 pin CPU power cable will not even make it out of the grommet to the 'front' of the case. I will definitely take a loot at extensions.

can you flip the PSU so the leads come out closer to the motherboard tray?
