A great monitor for single screen or surround setups!
review by mxfreek09
The Acer H236HLbid Black 23" LED IPS monitor is a fantastic deal for the money. This monitor provides a great option for getting into a 1080p IPS monitor for a very great price without having to sacrifice a ton of features. As with most IPS panels, this monitor provides great colors and excellent viewing angles. Also this monitor has very thin bezels and the entire front of the monitor is completely flat from edge to edge. These features make this monitor a very good choice for using in a 1080p triple monitor setup. The downside to these monitors is the lack of vesa mount. This may not be an issue for users who wish to use the monitors as a single solution or have a lot of desk room to set the monitors up, but it will be a downside for the users who want to use a triple monitor mount. The monitor is a glossy monitor with surprisingly a very minimal amount of glare. Another upside to this monitor is the included VGA, DVI, and HDMI cables with ports for each. Overall this monitor is a great option as a single or triple monitor solution on a budget.
Pros
Cons
Great Veiwing Angles, Amazing Colors, Minimal Glare, Thin Bezels
This screen i love it i wish it would have better black reproduction and a better glossy finish is almost not glossy lol i mean if i compare it to 17" alienware m17x one the older model...
Still great purchase for eyefinity etc
Pros
Cons
Ips Good colour pretty fluid for gaming
Black are gray not too bad but i seen alot better but on more expensive screen
I have 3 of these in landscape surround. Picked them up on amazon for $415 shipped to my door.
They are very light, very sleek and aesthetically pleasing. The color production on each monitor is identical, and good enough that i find anything to complain about without putting it directly next to a better IPS.
I use the monitors for gaming mostly and they work fine for quick response FPS games. Its no VG248qe, but its a decent gaming monitor. They have extremely small bezels, and the bezels are underneath the glass that comes all the way to the edge. Because the monitors are also so thing, you can actually overlap the monitors to essentially get rid of all but the center screen bezels. So the set is perfect for landscape surround on a budget. I am bummed that there are no VESA mounts, as i'd love to put them on a proper triple monitor stand, however for the price i understand. Additionally i'd like more adjust-ability. I miss being able to turn a monitor to portrait for programming work.
Overall very pleased. Don't hesitate to pick them up if you're on a budget and want an IPS or if your after a surround setup.
Pros
Cons
Very Small Bezels, good for gaming, IPS, CHEAP
No VESA Mount and fixed landscape orientation
