From what I have gathered, this chip is an a10-7850k without the iGPU. For the price difference between the two, a discrete graphics card can be purchased which will out perform the iGPU. Another bonus is the memory bandwidth is not shared with the GPU giving more to the CPU and all the RAM goes to the CPU.
As for performance, its still performs as well as an apu can. They are a bit slow performers for their clock rate. This is no exception. But, without the iGPU the CPU has a little more room to breathe. So, it can OC with a little less heat to dissipate. The result was 4.6ghz at 1.5v. I probably could have lowered the voltage or raised the multiplier again, but I had seen enough to be impressed. Without the iGPU this chip is capable of more overclocking than the a10-7850k which usually tops off at 4.5 Ghz. This in my opinion is directly related to the lack of shared bandwidth.
I bought this chip for a friend and am very happy with it. I am going to leave it at 4.2ghz and 1.35v for a nice long term speed boost.
Do you have any benches of this chip? I'd like to compare it to my 760k at 4.8GHz.
