AMD FX 6100 6-Core Processor, 3.3 6 Socket AM3 - FD6100WMGUSBX

Cheap and cheerful. Overclocks great and very easily. Got mine up to 4.2GHz, yet to go further. Using a Corsair H80 all in one water cooler, it runs at about 34 degrees Celsius at full load (using IntelBurnTestV2). Would recommend for anyone who wants a cheap CPU that is overclockable.

I got this processor 1/1/2012 for $169.99, I think it was worth it. As soon as I got it I decided to overclock it as much as I could. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get above 4GHz. I am now running it at 4.5GHz at 1.5v (22.5X200). I could go higher, but I am overclocking on air so I decided top play it safe. Gameplay is where this processor excels. If you want to be able to play games that require power, you got it with this beast. This card has 3 modules with two cores each, oddly (for me), most of the time it will only use 3 cores while running windows programs. Don't let that bring you down though, its not the processor's fault its Windows. Many other programs such as Google Chrome run using full multi-threading. And Minecraft runs wonderfully!

I have this chip overclocked to 4.6 from stock 3.3 and it runs fine with no issue's.I turned the Multiplier up to 23.0 and set the cpu voltage to 1.45 and that's it. Please keep in mind that I water cooler my entire system and that helps with higher overclocks.

I love the Processor and 6 cores but, I also love speed. I bought mine stock and it came with 3.30 GHz and 6 cores. It does all you could ask for but, as a college student in Computer Information Systems, I need more speed and I don't know how to Overclock yet but, I'm hoping someone here will tell me very soon. I would like to take it up to around 4.30 GHz so I shouldn't need to add a cooling system other then how it came stock out of the box. This Processor will suit many people but, I love speed and no speed is enough, at the same time, I can't afford to damage it since I'm a college student and funds are limited. AMD! I attached my out of box stock CPUID-CPU-Z report. I need to learn how to change this
