Pros: Fast, 4 Cores, Fast, Fast, Fast, Unlocked Multiplier and Fast

Cons: Stock HSF is crap - loud

My old rig was a E-Machines pre-built with a Pentium D 805.

This is amazingly fast. For everyday stuff and gaming, this is where it's at for budget builds. Multitasking has no limit, my old Pentium D would freeze with a Chrome tab and CoD4....

This thing can do everything I want and play a game without breaking a sweat.

I don't see any benchmarks pre and post overclock. Fast is a relative term. This is more of a quick look, than a review. I didn't learn anything about the CPU except it's 4 cores and faster than a Pentium D 805.
Mine is overclocked at 4000 mhz no problem. It is a very good processor, especially if your on a budget.
Agreed, it is a great chip, mine is at 4100 and has been solid
@one-shot

Oops! I'm sorry! Didn't know I had to overclock and do benchmarks to write a review! Could you please link me to the rules saying I have to overclock and run benchmarks? And the rules that say I must write a book on it? And glad to hear you learned this had 4 cores and is faster than a Pentium D 805!

@dkisch and royalflush5

Yeah, I'm liking it. Waiting to get a Hyper 212+ before I OC (or could I with stock...). One issue though. It came with a stock V-Core of 1.475. Is it normal? I don't see this HSF handling 1.475. It says this in BIOS, ASRock Afterburner, CPU-Z, HWMonitor, etc. I have never seen it go above 42C.
Hyper 212+ is what I have. I would never attempted to OC my 965BE on the stock heatsink. So yes, I'd wait. But as for the V-Core that is normal. I backed mine down to 1.43 vcore and I have a stable OC at 4.04GHZ. So yes, I love this chip as well too.
@rrims

That's amazing... Now I know that I shouldn't have to TOUCH the volts! So when I get my Hyper 212+, it's basically set to 4GHz and stress test it...
Just wondering, what performance increase would I see from 3.4GHz to 4.0GHz? Let's say a 1440x900 resolution with a 6870 1GB. Playing BF3 on Ultra. 5 FPS?
And one more thing, do you have to remove your mobo to install the Hyper 212+?
Well every chip is different, so the default OC-ing by raising your core on stock volts till it fails, then either back it down, or give it a few extra volts.

As for the gaming increase, I personally don't think you would notice THAT much of a difference. I'm sure its there, but i haven't noticed it in the games i play (Just Cause 2, L4D1/2, TF2, etc). As for the installation of the Hyper, yes you do need to. There are 4 threaded inserts that need to go on the back of the board, but if you can access the backplate of the CPU with your case, then you're good to go. If you have any questions when you install the Hyper 212+ just PM me. Because the instructions are pretty.... non-informing.
I didn't have to remove my mobo to install the hyper 212 evo into my HAF 912.
Thanks rrims. I have a Thermaltake V3 Black Edition, don't think it has a cpu cut out.
Glad I could help
