Description:
2700 mhz, 13.5 locked multi, 3 MB L2 cache, 6 MB L3 cache. One of the first 95W Thubans to surface, however the later versions of the 1055T also come in a 95W flavor. The 1045T is an OEM processor that is unavailable through retail as it power Hewlett Packard computers, but recently have surfaced on auction websites from independent computer techs.
I had one of these before I got my i5-4570. Right now this sells for $154 on amazon and that is EXTREMELY overpriced considering that you can get a 4430( that will trounce it in almost every situation) for about $175 with a couple of coupons. This is not a good buy in this day and age.
Pros
Cons
relatively higher core count
Price, TDP when overclocked, single-threaded performance, locked multiplier and overall performance compared to it's intel rivals.
I picked one up for $79 on TD a while back. I've clocked mine up to 4.5 ghz on a 240mm CLC, great overclocker if you have the right board. http://valid.canardpc.com/2708623
Hard to beat the value it gives at the price I paid, but $140 is much to expensive for this chip.
Upgraded from my Oc'ed 965. The first thing wchich I observed was a big jump in time of rendering in sony vegas. As I multitask a lot It's easier to work with 6 cores. My sample runs 3.9ghz at 1.4V wchich I think is nice. Howewer it requires 300mhz HTT to run at this frequency wchich was trouble since my RAM doesn't like high HTT.On gaming side I can't see any difference compared to 4.1ghz X4 965.But the biggest problem is that the core temperature sensors give out false readings (for example 20?C core temp when water is ~30?C).When I was using the 965 there was no problem with temps readout.
Also this cpu should do fine in games that can make use of 6cores like max payne 3,crysis 3 and few others.I can recommend this cpu for anynone who want to start a small server because you have 6cores + AMD-V instruction for VM's wchich should do for an entry level server.
The price I paid is 408PLN wchich is about 130USD. Comparing to 900PLN( 290USD)for 4670K this cpu is just great for the money. From my point of view the price is pretty adequate to the performance you get(especially when Oc'ed to ~4ghz).
Pros
Cons
Great price/performance ratio, high overclocking possibilities, nice multithreaded performance, compatible with many sockets (from Am2 to Am3+)
False readings from core sensors (core temps under water temps),requires a high HTT board to OC, gets hot when running over 1.45Vcore
I own this processor as well, and I have not overclocked yet, mainly because I need a more powerful power supply. But regardless, upgrading from an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ made a HUGE difference in EVERYTHING. I can multitask like a boss with my computer now, and play games much better as well. This is a fantastic processor, even at stock clocks. I get readings on core temp of around 20*c as well, and was wondering myself if these were correct. As for the clock speed, I'm amazed that you got it to 3.9ghz. I heard these CPU's hit a wall at around ~3.4ghz. Great review!
