Very powerful, best card for the money

review by fonzie1225

This is an absolutely amazing card. It burrowed itself into my list of favorites the first time I laid eyes on it, sitting happily in the back of the Fry's store. I came expecting to buy an AMD 7950, but when I noticed that the price had risen to $300, I looked elsewhere. The first alternative was the quaint 760, smiling at me contently, and it was love at first sight. When I brought it home and eagerly pried the box open, the first thing that I noticed was the 760's size. It was one of the shortest video cards I had ever seen. I had already removed the middle drive cage in my case anticipating another monster graphics card, but there was no need. The next thing I noticed about the 760 when I booted up my PC was the noise, or lack thereof. At first I though there must be something wrong because I didn't even realize the fans were spinning, which I discovered was false when I foolishly groped the underside of the card to see if the fans were spinning. I immediately booted up a pretty intense game(Borderlands 2 at ultra settings with Physx) to see what the 760 could do. The card's temperature and noise level still hardly changed. When Asus talks about their DirecCU II being a game changer, they don't lie.

ProsCons
Fairly inexpensive, powerful, quiet, and compactNone, that I can think of
