I was originally going to purchase a Dell U2412M but I opted for the Asus when I saw that my local Fry's Electronics had it in stock. So far, the monitor has been working fantastically.
I have it set to use Adobe RGB and the color and contrast ratio blows my Viewsonic TN panel out of the water. I can easily see different shades of whites, blacks, red, blues, everything. The contrast ratio is awesome. I can look at any angle and blacks stay black and white are whites. No difference in brightness or anything. When I loaded up Dota 2 I was amazed to see how deep and natural looking all the colors where. It was seriously like playing Dota 2 beta all over again for the first time. I sat there in amazement with how actuate the colors where. All the different shades of color were easily distinguished of one another. All-in-all, it's clarity is fantastic
The monitor its self it huge and does run a tad bit hot compared to my Viewsonic and Samsung 23 inch monitors that were LED backlit. It's screen resolution is 1920x1200 and at first I didn't think I would notice the extra 120 vertical resolution space, but it was one of the very first things I actually noticed. The extra space just makes the monitor feel complete and full. Its not so narrow like my 23 inch ones where. When I played Skyrim the extra viewing space was awesome because I was able to see more of my surroundings.
The build quality of the monitor is top notch. The plastic housing is strong, sturdy, and doesn't feel weak. The monitor not only comes with height adjustment, but also comes with a swivel. You can tilt the monitor up or down by 20 degrees or rotate the monitor left or right by 60 degrees. You can also flip the display into a portrait mode. The monitor also comes with a built in card reader and two USB ports which is a nice addition. It has support for DVI, HDMI, VGA (D-SUB), and Display Port outputs.
It's my first 8-bit IPS monitor and so far I am loving it
Nice, thanx
