Pros: Amazing clarity, great controlled bass, the sound stage will screw with your head

Cons: Highs are incredibly harsh before burn in.

These are amazing headphones, incredibly comfortable and the sound is some of the best you can get in the price range. The only real downside is out of the box the highs will be incredible sharp (I couldn't listen to female singers for the first 2 weeks) but this is settled with some burn in time which can be shortened by running them all the time even when you aren't listening.

Cons: slightly annoying coiled cable. That's about it. Even the cable is good.

Well, I've only ever listened to really crappy headphones so for me its difficult to compare. Plus, this review is a lie, I'm just too lazy to add the DT 990 pros. I own the Pro version which are open back (same impedence at 250). They are the same in respect to Hi-Fi (or so I've been told). I can tell you for what I bought them for, they easily outclass everything in this price range, including the M50s and the Ultrasone 550s. Easily. At 175, it was a fantastic price for what is really $300 headphones. Be advised, you do need a decent amp for these. Not just everything stating it can handle output of 250+ ohms will do, case in point is my fiio E7, doesn't get nearly as loud as it...
