Solid low end subwoofer

review by pioneerisloud

I bought one of these back when they were first introduced, at around $250. What I found, in my room, was that it extended down to around 25Hz successfully. It wasn't too terribly boomy, but it wasn't the cleanest sounding subwoofer either. Some notes would get muffled, but it wasn't a bad thing necessarily.

It has some very excellent excursion, considering the driver that's used in it. It's got some great power as well. I do think that the driver is this subwoofer's one weak point, but its also one of its selling points.

I'd definitely buy this again if I had some spare cash for one. This was one of my favorite cheaper subwoofers. It'll do well enough in a home theater application, it does excellent for 2.1, and it'll sound great in a small / medium room. It'll sound okay in a large room, would be better if you used 2 of them in a larger room though.

ProsCons
Great low bass, good powerNot the cleanest sub I've heard
