This is an ok board if your looking to put together a machine for normal use. Tho the first thing you will notice right off the bat is, the case fan header on the motherboard has no speed control. When a case fan is plugged in the fan runs at full speed constantly, creating tons of unnecessary noise. The second this you will notice is the BIOS is a little bit wonky (something Biostar is known for). It has a pretty flimsy PCB but that's common among most cheap boards these days so it isn't a problem. The dimm sockets do feel a little cheap, but again nothing critical unless you are changing out ram constantly. I would strongly recommend spending $10 more and getting the A880GZ or the ASRock 960GM/U3S3.

Did you actually have any trouble with the board? Did it not work or something? Cause 1 start is pretty low, considering you say that it does work. And it is only 50 bucks after all.
If you feel like going out and purchasing $20-30 of bells and whistles to make the board tolerable feel free. But in all honestly I would spend the extra $10 and get a better board. If you look over the reviews on Newegg 3 of them were mine (the very first review from N/A with 3 Eggs is mine), while others help state the obvious with this board.

Also I have purchased a A880GZ last night that I should be getting tomorrow, it runs normally $59.99 on Newegg (I picked it up with coupon code for $49.99 ($39.99 with rebate)). I will post up a better review once I get time to test the boards functionality.
