Up until recently (from the writing of this review), the Canon 5D Mark II was the flagship full frame, non 1Ds level camera offered by Canon. Originally released in 2008, the Canon 5D Mark II had become a staple for professional photographers across a wide gamut, and rightfully so. The Canon 5D Mark II wasn't just a photographer's camera; with the addition of full HD (1080p at up to 30 frames per second) video, the 5D Mark II also became a staple in high quality video work, including cinematography (featured extensively in the making of the recent "Act of Valor", which featured many clips shot with the 5D Mark II).
