Intel Core i7-4790K Processor- BX80646I74790K

Pros: Relatively low price (pushed down by release of newer models) and high performance

Cons: Not as efficient as newer generation Intel Cpu's, also more expensive than competing AMD Models

Still a Killer CPU 8 Years later in 2016!

Intel Q9650 LGA 775

Pros: Performs well, have two browsers with many tabs open, an AV scanning, Secunia PSI updating, Windows Updates running, and still doesn't choke!

Cons: That the CPU's run was short. Intel could had gotten 3 more years out of this chip, maybe developed a 4.0GHz on LGA 775!

“Enough of the jokes. I take Tom's "Best CPU" monthly articles literally...for gaming (of which I not much of a), "if you're not going to OC, you probably don't need more than a 4440.) And when I was looking of an i5 for this new build I'm now working on, I saw an offer of this i5-4440 for only $168 at NCIX, it seemed that it would do. Review is predicated on a damned good price basically....” --dennphill

Intel Pentium G2030 / 3 GHz processor

Intel Pentium G2030 / 3 GHz processor

“I had one of these 1155 Pentium CPUs for a year, give or take a few days. With 8 GB RAM and a Gigabyte GT 730 GPU added onto an ASRock H61M-VS4 Motherboard, the G2030 was quite capable of doing small 3D renderings in TurboCAD, and it can handle older games like Xcom and the UT series, though not on hi-res. There was also no problem with movie watching, (as long as all necessary codecs are...” --Kosenator

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz LGA 1150 Quad-Core Desktop Processor

“ I'm going to put a summary here and put the in depth stuff in the link later on. Haswell IS on average, faster than Ivy or Sandy Bridge once you factor in the IPC improvements. I assume you're overclocking. The results vary a lot as the amount of voltage required at a clock varies a lot. It is truly a lottery more than ever with this one. Haswell can tolerate a bit higher temps than older...” --Darkwizzie
