CM Storm QuickFire TK - Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with BLUE CHERRY MX Switches and Fully LED Backlit (SGK-4020-GKCL1-US)

Description:
Each keycap on QuickFire TK is UV coated, making them extremely durable. This version of QuickFire TK utilizes BLUE CHERRY MX keyswitches that provide force feedback with low resistance, allowing light and easy keypresses with a click feedback noise. If you like to hear your keypresses as you're gaming or working, these blue switches are the way to go. There's full backlighting with blue LEDs, 3 modes, and 5 brightness levels. NKRO through USB means every single keystroke will be registered. An embedded blue steel backplate rests underneath the keys, giving you maximum stability and durability. Additionally, the blue LEDs shine off of the blue plate, creating a mesmerizing glow across the keyboard. 7 easy-access multimedia shortcut keys save you time by allowing you to quickly toggle commonly used functions such as volume and music controls. A complete numpad lets you get work done when not gaming, incorporating directional arrow keys into the numpad while maintaining the smaller, ergonomic form factor. The slim and lightweight size of QuickFire TK gives you plenty of room for your mouse and allows you to keep your shoulders squared in a comfortable position.

Great quality and performance

review by terrere

I purchased this keyboard for 74.99 from Amazon.com to replace the cheap Dell keyboard I had been "getting by on" for the past 8 months. I was a little cautious of buying a new mechanical keyboard, partially cost and partially lack of knowledge, but I decided that it would be a good investment. From the moment I first heard the "click-click-click" of the Cherry MX Blue switches I have been in a sordid love affair with my first keyboard that I have ever truly loved. I have had gaming keyboards with many functions that I thought very highly of, but nothing in my past experience adds up to this keyboard. I love the small form factor and have easily adjusted to swapping between Numpad Lock for numbers and Numpad unlocked for normal keys. I, for about 45 seconds, thought that I had bad LEDs on the keyboard because the FN key was not lit nor was the F12 key. I was highly disappointed at the "burned-out LEDs" but decided to play around with it and see what it was like before sending it back. I am glad that I did, the FN key only lights up after being pressed and the F12 key only remains lit when you have disabled your Windows key. The Quickfire TK feels very solid, but not in a bulky way. The keys have a sturdy and high quality feel and the LEDs are extremely bright. The USB provided is a nylon sleeved removable USB cable, which also increases the quality look of this board. The board screams "quality" from every angle (after you realize you don't have dead LEDs that is).

Enough with semantics, on to the good stuff:
I play some MMOs, some MOBAs, some FPS, and other undefinable genres of games. I started out in LoL to get a feel for this keyboard. The n-Key rollover is extremely nice to have and the keys are not difficult to press as some people say. I may just be a fat fingered keyboardist, but I rarely bottom out so I think it highly unlikely. I honestly feel less strain compared to my old membrane keyboard, which is now permanently pushed to the "spares" bin. In DnD:Neverwinter, the n-key rollover is nice to have, but isn't necessary to be competitive. Knowing how quickly the spell actuates IS important though. The click lets me know that the spell has fired and that I am ready to launch another. The wasd LED mode is nice as well, since only the keys I actually need are lit. After spending about an hour trolling around in Neverwinter, I decided to play a little Left 4 Dead 2. I enjoyed the responsiveness of the Quickfire TK in this game tremendously.

Overall, I love this keyboard (in case I didn't already say that). It is responsive, offers a ton of features, is compact while maintaining a full keyboard layout, and feels very solid. At ~75 dollars on Amazon, you aren't going to find many mechanical boards of this caliber. The Cherry MX Blues are a nice combination for me, but some people prefer other switches. The Quickfire TK comes in a variety of switch combinations, but the Blue is my biased favorite of course.

ProsCons
High quality, beautiful clicky keys, great features, nylon sleeved USB, multiple LED modes and functions, small form factor with all keysNeed a wristrest of some sort ( I use a small phone book)
