User Reviews: Cooler Master Centurion 590 ATX Mid Tower Case Black - (RC-590-KKN1-GP)

Pros: Great airflow, lots of fan mounts, excellent tool less functionality, decent cable managment provisions, clean minimalistic design. Bang for the buck.
Cons: Lacks mounts for additional front fans, metal power button conducts electricity, metal is somewhat flimsy, side panels difficult to install.

The cooler master Centurion 590 is a great case with lots of function. It has lots of provisions for fans. You can mount up to 8 80-140mm fans in the main portions of the case (front, side, top, and rear), and a single 80mm fan below the CPU socket.
It's very roomy inside and can easily accommodate very long video cards, such as the 5870, with room to spare.
It's tool less design works VERY well which allows for speedy GPU, sound card, etc installation. Which holds anything installed in the expansion slots firmly in place, even large heavy graphics cards or for mounting DVD/blue ray drives.
Removable hard drive cage.
With its all mesh front, this case has excellent airflow. It's as good, if not better, than a lot of more expensive cases.
This case is VERY easy to work with. Both side panels and the front bezel are quickly removable to provide easy access to the parts inside, provide excellent access for cable management and easy cleaning of the filtered mesh inserts.
It has several holes cut along the bottom, and a long slit down the side of the motherboard tray for excellent cable management. However, the one caveat is there is little room behind the motherboard tray for a lot of cables. Although, I have used two non-modular power supplies with LOTS of cables, and with some creativity, I was able to hide them all.
This is a bottom mount PSU designed case with the ability to mount the power supply in any direction, whether pulling air from inside the case or from underneath it. It also provides a nice low center of gravity for stability.
The CM 590 also has two holes with grommets on the back by the expansion slots to allow for water cooling. However, it doesn't have the room to mount anything larger than a 120mm radiator to the back of the case.
On the front panel there are 2 USB 2.0 ports, 3.5mm headphone and mic jacks, IEEE1394 (firewire) plug, and the power and activity LED's and the power button.
With all of it's pro's, there are a few cons. The metal of the case is rather thin and flimsy on the side panels. They distort and bend easily.
The power button on the CM 590 is metal. While it may have a nice look and feel to it, it does conduct electricity all the way down to the motherboard. My cat was smelling at the case and zapped the power button resulting in a BSOD.
With as well as this case is designed, one major thing they overlooked was a cutout in the motherboard tray directly underneath the CPU socket to allow for easy access for quick CPU cooler changes. That would have been really nice.
And the last "con", if you could even call it that, is that the interior is not painted. It would have been nice, but considering the cost of this case, $50, I'm sure it was just cost prohibitive to add those few extra features that would have made this a perfect case.
