Pros: Massive airflow, excellent cable management, solidly built, inexpensive
Cons: difficult to clean, could be loud if you are sensitive to sound.
This was the first component I purchased for my first custom PC. Very satisfied!
CONSTRUCTION
Although the construction materials contain the term 'plastic', it is a very solidly constructed and very durable case. It is a perfect blend of structurally solid steel and aesthetic plastic forming a very sweet looking mid-tower case. The top is created so you can easily move it around with steel handles hidden by the plastic cover. Nice large and adjustable footings allow for a very stable and secure bed.
COOLING
The Storm Sniper came stock with 1x 200mm top exhaust fan, 1x 200mm front intake fan, 1x. 200mm side intake fan, and 1x 120mm rear exhaust fan. Plenty of room for additional fans. I added 1x 120mm rear exhaust fan for a push/pull configuration for a Corsair H-70, and a 140mm intake fan on the bottom. All vents are filtered except the bottom intake for the PSU. With all these fans, the noise could be a bit loud, but I wear headsets most of the time, and its not an issue for me.
SURFACES and CLEANING
Durable plastic front and top panels cover a steel substructure. Steel side panels. All polish nicely. The case contains a great deal of filtered metal grid surfaces which allows for a great deal of airflow, but also is a royal pain to clean without proper equipment. Wiping with a cloth and canned air doesn't cut it. I highly recommend a more professional vacuum unit to keep this case up to par. Myself, I purchased a DATAVAC handheld vacuum/blower for about 70 dollars, which allows me to keep this case looking brand new at a cost of about 15 minutes per week with no canned air! Vacuuming out the dust filters switching a hose and blowing out what little dust that made it into the case. Adding additional intake fans keeps the air pressure inside the case slightly higher thus keeping more dust out.
CABLE MANAGEMENT and COMPONENTS
It is a wider than normal case which allows for awesome cable management. Both side panels are easily removed for easy front and rear access to components. All components fit easily into the case. However, my MSI Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr III, could not fit with the tool-less mount so left the mount open, popped a screw into it and its fine. Ram fans and a large CPU coolers are welcome in this case.
ACCESSORIES
Since the case has so much airflow, I replaced the filtered grid side panel with fan with a windowed panel available from Coolermaster for around 25 dollars.
APPEARANCE and USE
This is a sweet looking case, lots of lights and room for more. The top loading USB, fan controller, etc make this case ideal for sitting below your desktop surface.
