Love it more and more ..

review by visionx

I have only had this mouse a week but compared to my last old sidewinder this thing is awesome! I really thought from the box that it was going to be to small. After hooking it up and using it for a few short minutes I was fully comfortable with it.
The mouse has an ambidextrous design that is very comfortable. I seem to have what is called a hybrid grip. But after some research I noticed that the Recon is listed as a suitable mouse for ALL grip types.I am inclined to to believe that given how easy of a transition it was from the longer sidewinder.
As for the tracking and switches I have had no issues with either. The sensor tracks well on my old Steelseries and on a hard mat. I have not tried on slick desk but I would be inclined to believe it would have no effect. The Avago 3090 sensor is a beast with up to 60 ips and 20g of acceleration. This mouse also boasts 1000 Hz polling rate / 1 ms response time. The Ultra slick mouse feet allow this mouse to glide effortlessly across almost any surface. The Omron switches give a very nice click when activated. You can even set the button response time with the software provided on Cm site. As for the software it is very easy to use and easy to understand. Each color zone on the mouse can be customized to match your pc. Even lift off distance can be changed and at the lowest setting seems very small.

All in all I have to say this is a very good mouse for 39.99 at the time of this review. It has even contributed to a better K/D ratio in all of my FPS games. It could have come with the software on a disk but that's not to big of a deal. I would say at this price point this mouse is a solid 9/10. Great buy for a budget gamer or some one who just wants that added bit of control.

One of the best bang for your buck gaming mice

review by boredgunner

You can't beat CM Storm in this price range, with their Storm Recon and Spawn mice. The Recon is designed for a "fingertip grip", which can be described as a relaxed claw grip, or intermediate between palm and claw. It also works as a palm-grip mouse for smaller hands. It's very comfortable either way.

For all you left-handed users, your prayers have been answered: an affordable, high end gaming mouse. Although it uses an optical sensor, I don't have tracking issues with it. It's not the best, but can still go all the way up to 4000 DPI easily.

The software has improved functionality over other CM Storm mice, and is the best I've seen. This mouse also has the best LED color tuning I've ever seen: you can choose between the entire color spectrum, for three separate LEDs. Incredible.

It's just an amazing mouse for the price. See my full review here.

ProsCons
Perfect build quality, best software I've ever seen on a gaming mouse, ambidextrousOptical sensor, though at least it's one of the best ones
