It does its job

review by allen86

Arguably one of the best power supplies in its price range (definitely was the best in its price range at the time I bought it on sale for 75). Worked right out of the box without a hitch. It's 140mm fan is quiet, I can't hear it over the other 3 fans in my case (1 back fan, 1 CPU and 1 GPU fans), my current system isn't enough to stress it at the moment (likely pulls a max of 300 watts under load) so I'm not sure how loud it gets under heavy loads.

650 watts is more than enough power for any single GPU configuration (even most SLI/Crossfire configurations), it's plenty overkill for my current configuration but seeing as it has a 5 year warranty, I think its a good investment and I mainly bought this to go along with a GPU upgrade I was planning in the future.

The braided cables are a nice touch, it cleans up the cables nicely so they're not as much of an eyesore, it does make the cables a little more stiff and harder to manage though.

Being non-modular, know what you're getting into before hand. If you need a modular PSU, buy a modular PSU. The only reason I picked this is up is because I was getting a new case (which has just arrived), I did try mounting it in my Dell Inspiron 530 mid tower case (which has basically no cable management options) and it was pretty bad. Ended up having to stuff the excess cables in my other free drive bay at the top. It wasn't too bad but it still left a nasty wire nest between the motherboard and drive bay with alot of excess cables. So if you're in a mid tower with little to no cable management, you might want to look into getting the HX650 instead.

Overall, really nice quality power supply backed by a 5 year warranty with top notch customer service, couldn't be more happy with the purchase.

ProsCons
Great quality, great company, not overly flashyNon-modular, requires good cable management options

I could not ask for a better 650w psu

review by ryanbob1234

Owned this PSU for a while now and I have to say it has not missed a beat.

It's lovely and quiet all the connectors work they are a nice black colour not that tacky white plastic colour.

With corsair you know where you stand with quality and with service.

I urge you guys to buy this power supply as it will run a 2500k rig a 560ti and loads of hdd's and extra's with ease!

You cant go wrong!

ProsCons
Great power delivery, cables look nice, Loads of sata/molex connectors you cant run outNon modular

100% solid PSU

Overall this is a really good power supply for nearly anyone. The only con is that is isn't modular which means in some cases (my zalman z11 plus) it can be a pain to make it look tidy but with some creativity it can be done.

ProsCons
reliable, plenty of connectionsit's not modular and can be a pain to cable manage
