Great little SSD for someone looking for an OS SSD with a few programs.

review by lareson

The one I have in my system has been working like a charm, speeds are great for running SATA II on my Maximus III Formula. TRIM is enabled automatically on Windows 7, so I didn't have to worry about that. Firmware is updated to 1.3.3 w/o any issues. According to SSDLife, my drive will last me until Dec 28, 2020. By that time, I don't think I'll even be using this as a OS drive, probably a 500GB SSD or larger by then!

I have a few Adobe programs installed and they start up almost instantly. Just overall impressed with how much faster things load, even when they're installed on a separate drive.

I also ordered another one of these for our IT manager when I built his computer not that long ago and he's impressed as he didn't even know what a SSD was when I asked him if he wanted one (ironic, I know.) He's running it on SATA III so he's getting the full potential of the drive. Outlook took a while to load on his old XP machine, but now it loads within a fraction of a second. His was updated with the newest firmware when I installed it so I didn't have to do anything with that. He shouldn't run into any space constraints as he only has about 5GB worth of docs and stuff and only needs a few programs. Also has his old 500GB WD Caviar Green drive for more storage if needed

I do have to say with mine, I am running into space constraints. I wished I would of waited until a 120GB went on sale on NewEgg, but I had the money then and this is what I got and paid for on Amazon. For some reason I had in the back of my mind that I could RAID 2 - 60GB drives, but after reading what happens when you RAID current SSDs, the results are usually poor.

ProsCons
Speeds are great, around 250MB/s on SATA II, 500MB/s on SATA III, price was great when I paid for it back in Oct.Small on space

It's not because of RAID itself, it's that you cant trim with raid.
