Solid PSU

review by speedytech7

I purchased this for my new rig because I planned on buying dual MSI Radeon 7970s and overclocking an FX-8350 to 4.8Ghz, all while running three hard drives. Overall this supply is very solid and hasn't shown any signs of weakening. I was surprised to find how warm it was when just idling though, I think that is partially due to the temperature controlled fan which lets it run warm because it kicks in at around 300 watts of usage. The quality and care given to packaging was amazing, the PSU came in a microfiber bag and all of the cables came bundled up in a nylon bag that had the Corsair logo printed on it. The only thing that peeved me a bit was the flat sata power cable, it was harder to route in my case (Cooler Master HAF XB) than the rounded and sleeved cables. I had no issue firing it up for the first time and was pleased to see that it truly is silent when not under load. I believe this PSU will last a long time especially when you take into account its manufacturer and the higher quality parts that they are known for using.

ProsCons
FULLY Modular, standard size, strong construction, sleeved cables (some), temp. controlled fan, 80+ Gold Certifiedruns a bit warm, sata power cables not sleeved,

Rock Solid Power

review by oliver1234

I bought this to power a 4770K, lights, 5 fans, a water cooling pump, and eventually two 770's (one right now). Currently, it runs flawlessly, and the fan is not audible over the five Corsair SP 120's running at half speed. I painted the fan grill red, and stripped the label and put red carbon fiber Vinyl wrap where it was, and now it looks fantastic:

The only thing is that it's REALLLLY hard to sleeve the cables because Corsair wired them all weird, so I think I'll end up doing extensions for them instead.
This is a great PSU with true premium quality. I would recommend this to people who NEED 700 to 800 Wts of power.

ProsCons
Stable, Fan only spins when PSU is hot, fully modular, flexible cablesNearly impossible to sleeve
