Corsair Vengeance K60 Performance FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (CH-9000004-NA)

Description:
The Corsair Vengeance K60 is a premium mechanical keyboard designed for high performance First Person Shooter (FPS) gaming. It features Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches which are of the best of the best key switches and coveted by gamers. They are defined by their low-operating force (45g) and smooth, linear key switch design so you can get quicker double and triple clicks… without the annoying click of a typist's keyboard. Contoured, textured control/action keycaps (WASD, 1-6) put you in complete command and allow you to easily find the precise location of your control keys. Full Key Matrix Anti-Ghosting and 20 Key Roll-over on USB detects and reports any simultaneous combination of key-presses with each key press being reported independently. Professional grade brushed aluminum chassis with laser etched keys provides you a comfortable, yet rugged design, ideal for single player or LAN party gaming. Soft cushioned wrist rest is optimized for comfortable FPS play even for extending gaming sessions. Wrist rest also includes standard typing key caps and a key cap replacement tool for easy switching.

Great Keyboard; nice mechanicalness.

review by ajacksified

I went into Central Computers in search of a nice mechanical keyboard; my primary uses are typing (programming) and light gaming. I tried out a few other keyboards, but I found that this had a nice combination of key height, a certain clackiness, and touch sensitivity. Other keyboards had a larger hight difference between rows, which tripped me up when coming from a flat laptop keyboard, and I found this easier to navigate. The keys are a little touchy, due to light actuation weight and distance, but I like that.

They include textured keys for WASD and 1-6, but I don't use them, because my primary use is typing, not gaming, and I find them distracting. Also, the F-row of keys are not mechanical, but that doesn't seem like a dealbreaker for my use.

In all, I think I got a great keyboard for a solid price.

Note: this is my first intentional experience with Cherry switches. I am by no means a mechanical keyboard expert, but spending 10-12 hours a day on keyboards, I feel like I can give this a reasonably accurate review.

ProsCons
Great tactile feedback (Cherry MX Reds) with light actuation; fast repsonse times, 20-key rolloverIncluded textured WASD keys not super useful, keyboard rest only for left hand
