Pros: Fast, Nice Heatsinks (When they work), Corsair

Cons: Got a bad stick, very high Bad:Good ratio

I was having nonstop issues, crashes, bsod, you name it. Everything would be fine and then things would crash, then everything, then a BSOD. Memory tests showed it was fine.

I think it was an overheating issue. It would be fine, and get progressivly worse. Than windows would stop so it didn't get fried.

Many reviews on other sites say that there are alot of DOA's. It seems to be true. Even better, this was my first PC build.

I stopped using basically every type of memory that is availible from microcenter (corsair, kingston, etc.) i go with G.Skill or mushkin now... waiting on my muskin right now but i have a bad PSU i fried so its either RAM or PSU... sucks man. 3rd build for me and seems like you cant buy ANYTHING without it being DOA. onlythings that werent DOA were the FX-8120 and ASUS Sabertooth 990FX.

To me Corsair has lost their touch...
Yeah, I bought a Crucial Ballistix 8GB Kit, which isn't top of the line, but good. Kind of like OCZ, everyone views them as an ok company, but it is actually one of the very best (in my opinion).

Sucks to hear your problem. That is why even though Micro Center has crappy stuff, I buy in-store from them. Lucky me, I lost the box for this memory, so I couldn't return it.
bad parts happen to even the best companies. you can't judge a DOA ratio just from buying two sticks. you could have gotten the only bad stick in 100, 500, or 1000 packages. **** happens. initiate RMA with them and get it replaced, they have decent warranty service.
also those "many other sites that say there are alot of DOA's" is not very accurate either. how many people post on forums that their sticks are working fine? people mostly post or review an item when they have a problem, like you did here.
Very true, but it seems based on what i have seen, these have more DOA's than any of Corsair's other memory. Not sure if most of the reviewers got a bad batch, but it seems a little high for suck a well known brand.
it's a very popular set of memory so the more they sell the more reports of failures crop up. just like the logitech G500, there's reports flooding the forums about click issues when in fact it's only a very small percentage compared to others that don't sell as well.
but you may be right, I don't know. personally I try to stay away from Corsair now since the last few products I bought from them have had flaws, but I wouldn't be so quick to judge failure rates based on user reviews/posts
Everything CORSAIR in my rig has/is failing except the H-100.
