Pros: Lightning fast, no random disconnects, range is amazing, uses dual band so my old devices can connect to the 2.4ghz, streams HD perfectly
Cons: Router setup page could use a face lift
Now, not only can I stream but it streams better. My downloads go to the limit without issues, the D-Link router page is very similar to my old router and while I do think there is room for improvement regarding the intuitiveness of the layout, it's the same D-Link I'm used to and have been impressed with for years. I used to be a diehard linksys guy until my last couple routers had various issues and died early on in their life span. I made the switch to the DIR-665 about 5-6 years ago, maybe even longer. That router has chugged along nicely since and has always had a high quality range/signal. The issue was it just wasn't powerful enough to meet my needs and due to excessive streaming/downloading, it would lose connectivity.
Fast forward to this week and welcome to the future. I paired it with a USB wireless AC adapter from D-Link as well and it was excellent right off the bat. If you're looking to make the move to wireless AC then do it, you won't regret it. I was considering the Asus among others and decided on this model due to the brand, price and features. I don't regret it one bit.
