Pros: Fun tribute to old school FPS, with some immature Duke Nukem humor.

Cons: Released about 5 years too late. A little cheesier than old Duke's.

I think whether or not you enjoy Duke Nukem Forever comes down to your attitude going into it. Do you expect it to be something amazing since they spent so much time working on it? Or do you expect that it was going to feel like an old, uninspired, plagued with development issues game that barely saw the light of day? If you sound more like the latter then I think you might thoroughly enjoy this game, especially if you loved Duke 3D growing up. It really just feels like a game from many years ago, and honestly I personally don't have a problem going back to old school games even if they do lack some of the modern features we usually expect in FPS games now. when i got it, i was excited to check it out, but i really lost interest within the first 5 - 10 min of gameplay. would i recommend it, no. was it fun? for 5 min

Pros: the most fun you can have with an fps, personality, varied gameplay, excellent range of weapons, huge fun in multi-player

I'm from the time of the original Duke Nukem, the 2d platform side scroller, and while I played and enjoyed those first games, I didn't get the chance to play Duke Nukem 3d, so my views on Duke Nukem Forever may be somewhat peculiar: in short, I love it. This is probably the most underrated game of the year. And maybe there are a few reasons for that. First and foremost, it would be impossible for a game to live up to all this hype after so many years. And let's face it, many people have grown up since 1996 and their taste may no longer be compatible with the essence of Duke Nukem. But that is not exactly the game's problem, or is it ?
