Pros: Cost effective, consistent performance, interchangeable parts
Cons: Installation could have been a little easier... but only a minor gripe
The Supremacy EVO came very well packaged and had a clear set of instructions. It is extremely well made and the copper base has a mirror finish. Installation went fairly straightforward except for when attaching the backplate, which took a little longer as getting one of the studs to thread with the backplate just would not go on. It did eventually but I had to put a little bit more pressure to get it to catch and hold. Installation on the whole was a quick affair as the Water block was already configured for the 1150 socket and I did not have to change the Jet Plate.
In terms of looks and this is always highly subjective, I think it looks great with a clear view of the coolant moving through the water block. The Supremacy EVO also has a couple of 3mm holes which allow for LED's to light it all up. No LED's for me at the moment but have ordered some.
In terms of performance, the EVO has more than achieved what I wanted. The i7-4790K now idles between 22 and 25 degrees and in Prime95 at 100% utilisation it does not go over 60 Degrees, lower for IntelBurn and AIDA64.
For those that are new to water cooling like me, the EK Supremacy EVO is a great water block to start with. Simple and straightforward to install and does the most important job well - keeping the CPU cool and with the right setup, quiet.
Price should read British Pounds instead of Dollars...
Update LED's connected - Picture does not do the LED's justice but they look great..
