Pros: Endless exploring, open world, massive tech tree

Cons: Graphics could do with some work. A little buggy ATM

I have never played an RPG before. I have never played any of the TES series. I came from a RTS, FPS background. So, it was with some trepidation that I purchased TES V: Skyrim. I was looking for something different and a little challenging and man, did I find it in this game.

I am impressed that you can wonder around the country side, doing your own thing and adventure finds you. Be it in the form of a NPC wanting help or bandits trying to rob me or even an all in brawl between some witches and bears. Last night I even had an assassin try to kill me... It appears Ive rattled someones cage smile.gif

So many choices, so much to explore, Im having a hard time trying to follow the main quest line.

The game allows you to play your own way. It even rewards you for doing it. If you prefer to be a warrior, hits on your armour increases its rating. The more you do a certain spell, the better it gets. The more you use a certain weapon, the more damage it does.

You have moral choices too with some quests. But the game doesnt seem to punish you for being an evil, sneaky, murderous thief. I guess with such an open world, the devs couldnt be too proscriptive.

So, coming from someone with no RPG background, I totally recommend this game. Be warned though.... it will suck your life away wink.gif

Boy. You better change that to at least 4.5 flames. >:|
And you can mod it all to look even better. I think an official modding tool may be around the corner, so like ULTRA HIGH-RES EYE CANDY awaits ye. :3

Good review, though.
Good review and I am really glad Skyrim is winning over even non-rpg fans. Soon everyone will see the awesomeness of western RPGs
