Super efficient and silent psu

review by recursion

I bought this psu because my old psu died. It's my first high-end 80 plus gold psu with sleeved cables. The psu is compatible with ATX 2.3 mainboard and has a large 139 mm fan. In my opinion it has a bit long cables for molex and sata connectors and the cables are a bit hard to bend. It has 2x 6+2 pin video card connectors. It's size is bit longer then a standard ATX 2.3 psu but it will fit in almost any cases and also in older case where the psu is on the top. The fan grill is a bit outside of the case so you might get some problems with some cases. But you can unmount the grill without to disassemble the whole psu: http://www.computerbase.de/forum/showthread.php?t=705607. The psu is very silent and cool when it operates and it looks great. I don't know about the efficient of the psu but it's gold rated. I hope this psu last longer then my psu before which died because of my undervolt and overclock. I also plan to make a SLI rig with 2 Geforce GTS 450 and I hope this psu with 500 watt is strong enough.

ProsCons
Super efficient and super silentEnd-of-life and the fan grill is a bit outside

$60 isn't bad! I have the enermax evo85+ silver 920W and paid $110 for it after rebate at newegg last summer. I've always had enermax and antec PSUs so I may be biased but its done its job for 11 months at 500W+ loads constantly. Gold is a gimmick and will only save the average person like $1/year but gold is better than bronze or 80 plus for sure!
