EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5, DVI, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort, 4-way SLI Ready Graphics Card Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2680-KR

In past several months, I had a pleasure of having all 3 video cards in my system at various points in time. So I went from MSI GTX 580 Lightning to Asus 7970 to EVGA GTX 680. During the time of the ownership, I was benchmarking same set of tests, to get the feeling on how they perform compared to each other. I'd like to share my findings with the community in hopes that this info might be useful for some.

System in my sig, has all the correct info. Few of the tests are missing GTX 580 results, this is because I forgot to run them before I sold the card. Stock, overclock levels and specific settings are listed in each graph.

GTX 580 - driver revision 295.18
7970 - driver revision 11.12
GTX 680 - driver revision 301.10






















So there you have it. Not the bestest choice of games, but I was looking for something that is DX10/11 with repeatable results.

In these particular tests with stock clocks, 680 is on average 28% faster than stock 580 Lightning, and 12% faster than stock 7970. Note, that 580 Lightning is itself an overclocked version of 580, having stock clocks of 832 instead of 772. 19% overclock on 680 netted 14% average performance increase. 7970 scaled better with overclock, but 680 is quieter. Surprisingly enough, 680 gets its butt handed to it in Metro, not surprisingly in AvP.

Overall, I feel that 680 is better card out of all 3. Get it, it's awesome.
