G.SKILL Ripjaw X 4GB 2 X 2GB 7-8-7-24 1.5v

Description:
"G.Skill have remained a forerunner in the bid for one of the best memory manufacturers in the marketplace. One of their best sellers in 2009/2010 was the Ripjaws range which offered excellent price : performance ratio, back for 2011 we have the successor to that range - the RipjawsX. Naturally, a product with such high accolade and multi-award winning has a lot to live up to. Today we will be taking a look at their 4GB (2 X 2GB) 1600MHz kit with the timings 7-8-7-24 @ 1.5v. This kit as I have said is designed specifically for Sandy Bridge and with really tight timings I'm anticipating great results and who knows, maybe we can get a decent overclock too. So lets waste no more time and begin our analysis."

Value for money and does okay in benching.

been using these for the last few months and I'm actually quite happy with them. Under XMP (Stock) they work perfectly and don't have any issue's, for the price I got them, they're pretty decent.

When I started overclocking them, that's when all the fun began.

Stock - 1600mhz 7-8-7-27 1.5v

Overclocked 1866mhz 8-9-8 24 1.6v

Overclocked 2133mhz 9-10-9-27 1.65v

Max stable overclock was 2133mhz with 1.65v 9-10-9-27 1T. I managed to squeeze a little more out of them:

Not bad huh

I'm sure that you could increase the speed or even tighten the timings a little more if you exceed the 1.65v range, however that's not recommended for 24/7 usage but for benching you never know.

Overall these aren't so bad for overclocking, however, for extreme bencher's, in terms of overclocking, there are better out there. Those that aren't looking for 8GB and want to overclock RAM these are certainly quite good as you can see
