Good Mid-level Card

Posted

Pros: Runs very cool and quiet! Crossfire is amazing and seamless! Heatpipes look cool when looking into my computer!

Cons: A pain in the butthole to get dust out of! Blue PCB is a big turn-off. Wish it had a little more power.

I bought this card to replace my XFX 5770. Has been a great card since the day I got it! It'll play every game on its own on very high quality... on

Great Value- Best Bang for the Buck

Posted

Pros: Cost, Performance, Cool Temps, Silent, and Great looking.

Cons: no factory voltage tweak, OC limitations, ATI Profiles

For what I paid ($150) you can't deny the amount of performance you get on a 1920x1080 resolution. I am currently running games like Skyrim (/w mods) and BF3 on ultra settings and getting great frames. ** single: 30-40ish fps crossfire: 50-80 fps I go on gaming runs for a couple hours a day and temps always are around 45c with gpu fan running at 50-70%. Even on full blast I can barely hear the fan over the noise in the case. Its factory clocked at 820/1150 out of the box and I have yet to change the voltage. I've seen other reviews use programs like MSI after burner to do so. I'll get to it eventually. Hopefully ATI gets some profiles for skyrim, because my crossfire setup is...

Great bang for buck

Pros: Cheap, fast

Cons: none

Picked one up at MicroCenter for $130. Was so impressed with what it did on a 1680x1050 monitor, I decided to purchase a 2nd card for crossfire and get a new monitor at 1920x1080. Crossfire setup with this card is absolutely beastly. Rarely dips under 60fps. Handled Crysis 2 with DX11 and high res pack easily. Definitely worth the cash. I see no point in upgrading past these.

Good Card for the Price...Just one problem

Pros: Can handle pretty much every game at near max settings @ 720p, Really quiet + cool card, Running @ 55% is barely audible & only reaches a max of 62C

Cons: DRIVERS...

Just Cause 2 @ 1440x900 with 2x AA and everything else maxed runs at 50-75 FPS. Battlefield 3 POST-PATCH on MP (Dice killed performance with the latest patch, badly) Everything on High with SSAO @ 1440x900 was running from 45-65 FPS with an Average of 52 FPS. BFBC2 Maxed out with no AA runs at a solid 75 FPS mostly, in really intensive areas it only goes down to 50 FPS. DiRT 3 Completely maxed out (including AA) plays at around 48-57 FPS, and on some tracks 68-75 FPS. Metro 2033 plays @ 1440x900 on High with tessellation no AA at around 55-60 FPS. Drivers are a pain, nothing but problems every update, But then again i expected this as before I owned a 4850 and had nothing but problems...

Great budget card

Posted

Pros: Low temps, quiet cooler, good value

Cons: Power connector on front of card, RPM readout on fans is a bit wacky

This card is pretty damn good, especially for the price. It also cools well with the stock twin fan cooler. At 900MHz/1100MHz on core and memory respectively, it was only running at 52 degrees under load. The fan RPM readouts in Afterburner are a bit wacked though, it was reading more than 13,000RPM for the GPU fans when they are at 100%! This may be Afterburner's problem, but I'm not sure.
