Pros: Light, Stylish, Quality Lenses
Cons: Frame Hurts, Noise from Frame
So I recently ended up needing a nice set of prescription glasses since the ones that are given to me for work are a bit on the well... Odd side.
I bought a set of GUNNAR Emissary Frames from a local eyeglass shop and had them do prescription lenses as well. Now all of the GUNNAR lenses are made by Carl Zeiss, and that is a quality name when it comes to eye-wear.
Overall Impressions are that the glasses are extremely well made, and they perform very well. The AG Yellow coating does give everything an odd hue, but you get used to it and your eyes are actually better for it as well. They definitely do reduce eye strain and help me when it comes to long hours behind the monitors.
Cons however are pretty bad for me, as these things are uncomfortable as hell. With my Razer Tiamat 7.1 the earcups put so much pressure on my skull that I have to take the headset off every fifteen to thirty minutes to let my skin rest. As well, with my Sennheiser HD 380 PRO headsets I use for work, the same thing happens every thirty minutes to an hour and is quite bad.
I would give these a
10/10 for Quality
9/10 for Style
5/10 for Comfort
8/10 for Eye Strain and Vision Quality
Side Notes: I no longer notice any distortion in my peripheries and this is why i mainly purchased these glasses. As I use three monitors, I can with my civilian glasses notice a slight distortion in wherever I am not looking, but with the GUNNARS/Carl Zeiss these are gone.
