Pros: Good Overclock Potential, Hyperthreading, Fast CPU

Cons: Heat, Standard Pricing

Great performing CPU. Ivy Bridge architecture runs way hot though, my chip can go 4.5ghz and above easy but the heat increases alot after each 100mhz after my 4.5ghz, not too mention how much voltage you need. Cooling on air with HYPER 212 Evo. Got this CPU for a steal, only paid $250. The base price is usually around $320-$330 so it is quite expensive. Upgraded from a 3570k for Hyper Threading in my applications that use more threads and I can see a difference already.

im looking to get the 3570k but i found a 3770k for the same as you (steal compared to the 320 base) this is for my first rig and was wondering if dishing out the little extra is worth it?
well what are you gonna base it on? I've had both the 3570k and 3770k I can tel you if you are building a gaming rig, there is little to no difference (0% gain) in gaming performance, of course maybe except for the games that do multithreading (like bf3), but there are rarely games that take advantage of more than 4 cores. Keep in mind what games you are mainly going to play and research if they like multithreading. I switched to the 3770k mainly because I do video editing as work and can actually see a difference in performance, the applications I use love multithreading so the HT was well worth it. And I did see you found it for $250? LOL you might as well just get it, it'll NEVER get this low in a long time, only $30 more than the 3570k. I would just say go for the $3770k if it's that low, no brainer! Plus I found the 3770k was easier to overclock.
Curious where you found a 3770k for 250? I'm in Vancouver so I always go to NCIX and its priced at 319 right now. Microcenter doesn't ship or have locations in Canada which kind of sucks
Yo chann3l it was a 1 time deal on Tiger Direct's black friday. It was $250 that day, I got really lucky. On the same day Amazon did it for $250 also but in a matter of seconds (literally, only seconds) they were sold out on Amazon. I was extremely lucky.
Micro Center, if you're lucky enough to live near one, sell this chip for 230, but you have to pick up in-store.
