Fast, efficient and powerful
Pros: Hyperthreaded Quad, Fantastic Server CPU, Low Power, easily overclocked, very fast
Cons: Somewhat low base clock, Not the best for gaming
I owned it until I got out of the military about seven months after the initial purchase date. Originally bought out of a whim and I had planned on buying it anyway shortly before my AMD board died on me and things just fell into place. I found mine on the cheap from a local CPU retailer who was going out of business.
Extremely powerful for it's low clock speed. Being based off the first generation i7 line, I found it very easy to run a Left 4 Dead server on four threads and play on it with the remainder of the core without any problems in the slightest. Overclocked mine for a short time before I realized that the clock increase didn't yield any real gains. Made it to 3.3GHz for what it was worth.
The 95w TDP let me cool it with stock cooling for most of the time that I had it; games only made it up to around 59-60*C at stock. Friend is using the machine that has this processor and it's running strong still to this day.
I would recommend this little CPU to anyone who still has the 1156 socket server board or anyone who has an H55 chipset. Worth every penny.
