I want to start off by saying a big thank you to Jonsbo for this case! Thus far, this is the most premium feeling case I've had to review.

Packaging

This case comes in a brown box with information and drawings in black. Pretty plain, but all the necessary information can be found. The case itself is held with closed cell foam, which provides a good cushion, if the case is mistreated during shipping.

Exterior

The cases exterior feels very, very premium, thick aluminium everywhere, thick tempered glass. It has a really solid feel to it. The power button and I/O blend nicely into the front of the case. The I/O itself features two USB 3.0 ports and HD Audio. The rear of the case has a nice badge with basic information (company name, case name, etc).

All panels are thick 3mm aluminium with machined edges and brushed black anodized surfaces, it doesn't really get any more premium than this.

Tempered Glass

The tempered glasses are 5mm thick. They carry a dark tint which might not appeal to everyone, but complements the look of the case very well. Especially the black version I have.

Jonsbo Logo

The Jonsbo logo made of mirror backed plexi and is illuminated from be back with white LEDs.

Interior - First look

When we first look at the interior of this case, we immediately see a different layout than the I/O being on the back. This is because the I/O ports are found on the TOP of the case rather than behind. The PSU shroud can be found on the left, while the motherboard takes up the right side of the case (when looking from the front).

The tempered glass sites on foam, which eliminates vibrations found on some tempered glass cases. The glass also goes back on very easily because of the tight tolerances of the case itself. The case just sits on the bottom ledge and the thumbscrews can be easily put into the holes without needing any alignement. This makes the process of installing and removing the glass, very easy. Something that I can't say for all tempered glass cases I've put my hands on!

Rear and Top

On the rear, we find two of the four 2.5" drive slots behind the PSU location and behind the bottom portion of the motherboard. There's enough cable tie down points for any build using this case also, which is great.

Seven passthroughs are found for cables, two on the bottom for the fans (ungrommeted), three for the motherboard 24-pin, SATA and other cables (grommeted) and two more on the top of the motherboard for 8-pin EPS and fans if needed. Jonsbo grometted the main passthoughs, which is great, the others are so small, they don't really need to be grommeted, so this is fine!

Fan and filter

The included fan look like Fractal Design fans with the white blades and black frame, along with the same colors on the sticker. They are rated for 12V with .25A at 25dB. However, Jonsbo was kind enough to supply me fans for this build. They've included Two FR-301 (one white and one red), these are PWM fans. You will see where I used the white one for the build.

The fan filter is more of a grill, it might keep hair and big particles out, but the fines stuff will get into this case. With a case this premium, I hope you'll be dusting it often regardless!

On the bottom, we can see room for either two 120mm or two 140mm fans.

Fan and FR-331 RGB

On top of the FR-301s, Jonsbo also included a three pack of their FR-331 RGB fans. These fans use a small controller box for their speed and LED lighting. I will be using all three for this build.

I wanted to use all three on the bottom, but there are not enough fan mounts for this, even though the case is wide enough to accomodate three 120mm fans on the bottom. I think Jonsbo should've expanded the bottom fan mounts to be able to fit three 120mm fans.

As for the Jonsbo FR-331, these are very good looking fans out of the box, they're even better lit up!

I/O Panel

One small detail is the the I/O panel screws are not the easiest to get, you'll need either a long screw driver or go sideways (like I did) to remove them. I then replaced these with thumb screws for ease of use, something Jonsbo could've included in the stock configuration.

Build

The build in this case was very, very easy. Nothing is misaligned, everything was straight forward, cable management was easy. I put the white LED FR-301 in the EVGA 550 GS, which complements the custom CableMod cables.

The only problem I faced is with the FR-331 controller. I didn't want to mount it externally, but I wanted to have access to it once the case was closed. This lead me to a spot between the expansion slots and PSU. This brings a lot of wires to the back of the case, but this will all eventually be hidden with the top panel.

My biggest issue with this case is the you'll need 90? angled connectors for video outputs. DVI, VGA and large HDMI cables with straight connectors simply are too long for the top part of the case.

Conclusion

I give this case the following score

Aesthetics - 10/10
Features - 8/10 (-1 for the top being too small and -1 for the bottom not being able to fit three 120mm fans)
Costs - 8/10 ($159.99 USD)
Quality - 10/10

Which gives the case a score of 36 out of 40, so 90% as a general note. If you're aiming for a very sleek and stylish exterior with a premium feel, you will not be disapointed in the VR2.

I want to thank Jonsbo again, for this case and the included fans!

Hope you liked my review, more to come soon!
