A huge thanks goes out to the HyperX team for providing this review sample.
The hyper X cloud headset really has been a surprising shock to many gamer's. The company's HyperX Cloud II really improves upon its design and features. The result from this headset is a comfortable class of its own, even despite lacking customization and software.

The design of this unit is really polished. In my opinion this is one of the best headsets you can buy for under $100. They offer a variety of colors but the black and grey is rather snazzy. This headset offers adjustable ear cups, detachable microphone, and console support. The mic extends 6 inches and is highly flexible. I really like the embroidered design of the HyperX logo on the headphone's band. The packing of the headset couldn't have been more classier. I also enjoyed the bag they give you for the headset, the attention to detail for the features of this headset really do show in this product.
The part of this headset that really shine's is the comfort of this headset. I have to say this is the most comfortable headset I have ever used. I was able to play games for several hours without needing a break. I never experienced ear or head pain like I have with other headset's. The feel of the leather on your head and ears rally feels great, it never felt restrictive and manages to feel really light.
The audio output of this unit is really impressive. This headset did what its intended for, allow gamer's to game for hours. The 7.1 surround sound of this headset really shines in games that take advantage of such features. The ability to turn it off is also a nice touch if needed. The high and low-end frequencies of this headset were not the most impressive but were totally adequate to deliver superior sound when needed in major battle scenes. Ambient noises were crisp, but doesn't provide the highest bass level's.
The one thing this headset doesn't offer is total control. The 7.1 is nice, but offers no software or ability to create sound profiles like other headsets. The microphone did perform well using services like ventrillo, teamspeak, and in-game voice. I was able to have little background noise which is great when trying to communicate in tough death match sessions.
Watching movies and listening to music with this headset was really enjoyable. It doesn't provide deep bass but does offer clear crisp sound from tones and speech. Windows does offer some control over a tiny fraction of this headset but doesn't provide the full effect software would have.
The bottom line is this headset is one of the best you can buy for under $100. It offers comfort, style, surround sound, and decent balance for long play sessions. You can pick this headset up right now on Amazon for $95.00.
