Pros: Fast, quiet, all-in-one

Cons: Low read speed w/o firmware hack

After having a Lite-On drop a deuce on me, I decided to go back to purchasing solely LG optical drives. I've never had problems in the past with them and have had many problems with Lite-On. I got it solely to rip my bluray collection with the option of burning if I needed to. Seeing that it's 12x I knew it would rip fast. Popped a bluray in and used MakeMKV to rip that baby. Never got above 4x. Ended up getting the latest firmware version from LG and useing MediaCodeSpeedEdit to unlock the riplock. Now it rips at around 8-9x no problem. Dual layer discs are done in minutes. +1 recommendation.
