Little Devil PC-V8

Description:
This case is made by LittleDevil /LDcooling. They are based in Slovenia and they design the case. Here is some info from his site about the PC-V8.

The LDcooling LD PC-V8 ATX Liquid Cooling PC Case is designed from the ground up for housing an internal liquid cooling system with the maximum cooling power possible. This extraordinary case can house up to three separate quad 120mm fan radiators! Two of them fit in the isolated liquid cooling compartment at the bottom of the case that keeps the heat from the radiators from interacting with your motherboard and video cards. The third quad 120mm fan radiator mounts at the top of the case and vents warm air straight out of the case, cooling the entire hardware compartment.

This case is all about options, you can install two triple 120mm fan radiators in the bottom compartment instead. You can choose to run two power supply units, instead of just one. You can run 140mm intake fans at the front of the case and a 120mm exhaust fan at the back. You can mount up to 8 separate Solid State Drives (SSD) throughout the case, and 5 standard Hard Disk Drives (HDD) with the included anti-vibration screws.

brilliant case

review by driftingforlife

When this case arrived it was very well packaged and despite the size it is light. The quality of the case is great, very well build and it really feels it. When I came to build the rig the amount of space in this case is almost unbelievable, it makes my RIIIE look small, my 2 QUAD RADs fit easily into it. The great amount of space continuers around the back of the motherboard tray which is removable, the cable routeing is very good and there is enough space to fit a ?? tube around the back like I have meaning you can have a neat and tidy waterloop. The HDD bay is very easy to use and works well, there is enough space for my HDD and my D5 with a top, the bay is removable and so is the 5.25? drive bays. Some of the bad point are it is hard to move around and the side panels can be fiddly to get off because the screws, apart from that it is a fantastic case.

ProsCons
The amount of space, Build quality, RAD options.Hard to move, price, fiddly side panels.

Great Case, some issues though

review by phantomtaco

I've been using the LD Case for about 6 months now, and I've been extremely happy with it. You could easily fit 3 480 MM rads inside this massive case, (2 on the bottom which might need a little ingenuity as they come with mounts for 360 rads) and one up top, providing you with enough rad to cool anything. Should you need (seriously?) more, you can install up to 3 additional 120mm rads (2 up front by removing the hdd tray and one beneath the MB). The motherboard tray has all the needed routing holes and screws to fit most motherboard sizes and leaves little to be desired when it comes to cable cleanliness. On the back side of the motherboard tray is a mounting point for an SSD to keep you HDD bays open for other drives.

While the case impresses me with its size, it's design keeps me unsatisfied. I understand it's meant to be a utilitarian case for hardcore liquid cool/phase change enthusiasts, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't like at least a little bit of flair. The plain box design with simple grills all about is not exactly the most appealing thing I've ever seen.

Due to the case being made entirely of aluminium (at least I believe it is), the LD case is deceptively light. Sadly, one of the biggest issues with the case lies with its' accessibility: to access your computers innards requires removing around 16 screws per side for the top half. This could easily be remedied b providing users with thumbscrews.

At nearly 500 euros, the case is by no means cheap; then again anyone buying a case like this is clearly not too worried about their budget.

Overall, I would definitely reccomend this case to anyone looking for a case built for serious LC or phase change with it's ample space, light weight, and easy cable routing solutions.

ProsCons
Lots of space, easy WC, very light despite sizeTOO MANY SCREWS, could be made to look a little nicer

Almost perfect

Reason for purchase

I bought this case after going through a whole lot of "normal" cases, because they were cheap and they have a good availability. Got this LD Cooling PC-V8 Black/Red from FronzenCPU for a very good price, I bought this to do a project with it and I needed a lot of space.

Earlier experiences:

I have earlier owned Cooler Master Elite 430, Cooler Master Force 500, Cooler Master Storm Stryker, Fractal Design Arc Mini R2, Corsair 900D and Corsair Air 540 and none of them could handle my needs.

Breakdown of the case:

The generally difference between those cases and this, is the construction, the PC-V8 is solid, while it is light weight, it is built to last and everywhere it is used screws to hold it together, not just rivets like almost any other case. It can support ATX and all the way up to HPTX, so it is enough space for anything you want to have inside your case. The space is of course very good, it has space for high graphic cards (such as MSI Lightning and EVGA Classified), it has room for 60-65 mm thick radiator in the top with fans, it can take some hard disk drives and some SSD's (mounted on various places around the case).
Motherboard tray is screwed in with screws and can easily be removed, it has many cable management holes and holes for the P-clips which can be bought separately. The tray itself is 1,2 mm thick aluminum and weighs almost nothing, but it has very little flex to it which is good. The doors with acrylic windows is very solid, does not flex at all (not even the XL-window version which is the original window on the PC-V10), even though the acrylic window is pretty big, this is very impressive. Case without motherboard-tray, HDD-tray and all panels is still not very flexible, which is very good.
Placement of the power supply and the option to buy the extended version with space for two power supplies is very neat, and again the construction of the extended version is very good, in the bottom department (in front of the power supply/supplies) there is two radiator/fan mounting brackets, they are fairly stable even with heavy radiators (such as the Alphacool NexXxos Monsta 480), but again the space for that thick radiators are not too good, the Monsta 480 get too thick in the bottom too, one radiator is okay, but you cannot do two radiators in the bottom then. All the way in the front of the case (in the bottom apartment) you have your power and reset switches, which is a fairly good placement.

Things I do not like:

Motherboard-tray which is very universal, it should have been models of the tray (to be bought separately) of even ATX, E-ATX, XL-ATX or HPTX, because if using E-ATX with the original motherboard-tray it will look a little weird with standoff-holes for HPTX and cable management-holes "miles away" from the motherboard.
HDD-cover that does not cover all of the HDD-bays, you can actually see the screws and "feet" of the HDD-bracket while the cover is mounted.
Black and silver nuts, there is a mix of silver- and black screws used in/on the case, I would prefer if it was used one of the two and not both.
No accessories without buying separately: PCI-E covers, screwdriver, screws to fasten power supply and graphic cards is not included.
Too little space in the top of the normal orientated version, if the motherboard-tray had been 5 mm lower you could have placed Monsta 480 + normal 25 mm fans inside the case.
IO- and PCI-E bracket fastened with rivets, this should have been fastened with nuts as well.

Things I do like:

It does support motherboards from ATX to HPTX.
Construction of aluminum.
Very solid construction, not too much flex and light weight.
Expandability, 10 PCI-E slots, space for some HDDs and some SSDs.
Support two/three 480 radiators without modification.
Accessories can be bought separately.
Cheap compared to what you get.

My conclusion:

Good case for a good price, if you are in to water cooling and need a lot of space for your hardware this is definitely something for you. The construction is irreproachable, the weight is almost the half of what other cases in this size usually is, even with accessories this is way cheaper than any competitor.
Four 5 1/4" bays, varying color combinations available and a wide spectrum of expansion is some of the points going with this case, it is also in the premium segment of computer cases if you are an enthusiast. This case is approved by me!
