Logitech K800 Keyboard - Quick Review

Well considering there isn't a review for this keyboard, i may as well write one.
Had this thing for a number of months now and It's beginning to show it's age. The area's my hands frequently rest are beginning to gloss over, debris is falling behind the keys....ya'know, the typical signs you'd expect really.
This leads me on to the major con of this keyboard, so i may as well start with the cons first;
Cons:
Considering the price you pay, you'd think Logitech would have designed this keyboard for quick, easy dismantling to clean under the key's, am i right? Nope.
In fact, if you try in any way to remove the keys, i can personally guarantee that you'll break them unless you're EXTREMELY careful. The key mechanism is quite fragile and exposed underneath there (with this in mind, preventative cleaning is MORE important!). Pop a key, and you'll very easily break it and make it unusable. Trust me, i tried, and although i was successful, there was one "key" casualty.
While i had all the key's off, i also noticed some other electrical wizardry is a bit exposed. So you really don't want to be tipping any fluids on this thing anytime soon.
Very disappointing for the price. Being a backlit keyboard, it doesn't take long for the dirt and debris behind the keys to show quite clearly. No amount of canned air or strong lungs is going to dislodge it either. Couple this with the frailty of the keys.....bah, Logitech, Y U NO THINK? (Although if it's any consolation, the keys do feel great and press nicely, and are very quiet to type on)
And speaking of the Back-light - it's lovely, I prefer it on the brightest setting. There is one problem with this though: it doesn't remember what brightness you set it on when you turn it off or when it goes into "standby" when not in use. So you've got to keep manually adjusting the brightness to full if that's what you want it on. Minor issue i know, but worth mentioning. There's also nothing in the Setpoint software to remedy this.
The keyboard is advertised to adjust it's brightness level based on the surrounding light, and although this is true in most part, it NEVER adjusts to full brightness, regardless of how dark it is. I guess it's programmed to do this to conserve battery - not so good if like me, you want it on full all the time.
PRO'S:
Aside from the faults though there really is nothing else wrong with this keyboard. It's a fantastic looking bit of kit and suits the white/black theme I've got going on perfectly. It's wireless capabilities are brilliant - I've even been able to walk around my own house, keyboard in hand, skipping songs at the touch of a button.
Battery life is great too. The keyboard ships (At least mine did) with 2000 mAH batteries to which i was pleasantly surprised. Charging is via a USB cable provided, which is basically a USB to
Micro-B USB No proprietary junk on this, which is a relief.
I was expecting Logitech (like so many other companies) to cheap out on the batteries too (2x AA batteries) but they didn't - again, good, considering the pricetag. You can also expect the batteries to last you at least 3 days with frequent use, but this largely depends on the backlight brightness level. I run with it full brightness as often as i can be bothered to set it, and i usually find the keyboard last's me several days on a full charge.
So, overall, great keyboard. Price is disappointing considering the faults though, but overall i love it and you'll be hard pressed to find a white/black combo with this kind of quality and style.
BTW, if you think the purchase price is higher then usual, that's because i live in the UK, and i converted from GBP to USD.
