Mionix AVIOR 7000

Description:
The AVIOR 7000 is a premium 9 button ambidextrous mouse. The unique ergonomic shape has been developed to be used by either right or left-handed gamers, and to support a palm or claw grip.

The ADNS-3310 gaming grade optical sensor delivers no positive or negative hardware acceleration, amazing accuracy, smooth tracking, and a maximum speed of more than 5.45m/sec (215 IPS) all the way up to 7000DPI.

With the new lift off distance (LOD) Calibration feature we have combined the Surface Quality Analyzer Tool (S.Q.A.T ™) with adjustment of the lift off height to find the lowest possible LOD with optimized tracking.

The lightning fast 32bit ARM™ processor enables the mouse to have many features without compromising the tracking of the sensor. The downloadable software provides access to fully customize all buttons, sensor settings, LED colors, macros and profiles.

From Sweden with class

I was looking for an premium mouse and i needed a bit more buttons & DPI switching since my left-hand Deathadder didn't have those.

Of course there was no other left-handed mouse, but this Mionix mouse is the closest that comes to what i'm looking for.

For an ambi mouse, it's really comfortable to pick up and move around, and the quad-layered rubber surfaces gives it solid grip. The side buttons have a definite click to them, no mushy feeling like you get on some cheaper mouse *cough* Razer *cough*

Their software allows you to customize your mouse's sensor and buttons to whatever you want. Want the DPI buttons as extra regular buttons? go ahead, it works! use the redundant extra side buttons for DPI? that can be done too!

the DPI is native in steps of 50 from 50 to 5000, as the 3310 sensor has that native range. the 5000-7000 DPI range is interpolated, but i don't see how anyone even uses that high of a DPI, 5000 is already uncontrollable to begin with, but it's nice to have the range of DPI, especially for an optical.

The LED can be customized to any color you want, even the scroll light can be a different color from the logo light, cause, why not?

Also, their customer support is flawless. Mine shipped with a flawed firmware that caused the mouse to freeze if you change DPI too quickly. I emailed them my issue, and within 10 minutes they actually gave me a beta firmware that fixed the issue! Fast, effective response is what gives a company goodwill, and Mionix should be an example of what TO DO for customer support.

I'm still hoping for a left-handed Naos because that one will fit your hand like a glove, but for an ambi design the Avior 7000 gets it VERY close in terms of ergonomics.

ProsCons
super comfortable, excellent customer support, godsend to leftiesNEED naos 7000 in lefty version, that's all.

Avior 7000 - My first gaming mouse

review by joephis19

So I got this mouse after doing a bit of research on simple, configurable mice. I chose the 7000 because it's good for claw grip, has adjustable sensitivity, and a few extra buttons.

When I first opened the box i was happy to see that it was slightly larger than mice I've used in the past. I have big hands that almost completely encompass the mice I've had in the past, which results in dragging my thumb and pinky on my mouse pad. The braided cord looks durable, and I haven't had any issues with it catching on the back of my desk. Finally, it looks simple. Most of the gaming mice i've looked at look gaudy and cheap. The 7000 looks simple, sleek, and clean.

Upon hooking it up, it works. No config software to install and fiddle with. As this is my first non-cheap mouse, I was happy to find that it worked right out of the box, including the dpi buttons and the side buttons. I was surprised by how much smoother it felt to use. As I've always used cheap OEM mice in the past, I found myself wondering why I took so long to get a good mouse. ALL the buttons and the wheel have a satisfying, tactile response, and the surface of the mouse is soft and rubberized for a better grip.

I downloaded the configuration tools, and was immediately distracted, for about 15 minutes, by the options for the wheel and branding LED options. You can set them to a single solid color or to cycle through multiple colors, with different effects, such as "breathing". The other configs are straight forward and simple to use. The dpi buttons can be set to 3 different settings in 50 dpi steps, all the way up to 7000 dpi. All the buttons are also completely customizable.

I only have one gripe, and its a personal one, since I'm used to the cheap 2-button and a wheel mice ive been using for years. I'm not used to the shape yet, so i find myself clicking the side buttons with my thumb. It's a very minor issue and I'm confident I'll get used to the shape pretty quickly.

In summary, this is a perfect mouse for people with claw/palm grips, both lefty's and righty's, that want no fuss set up, and all the options and custom settings you could possibly neet.

ProsCons
Comfortable for claw grip, simple to configure and customize, no accelI'm not used to the shape yet so I accidentally hit the side buttons with my thumb

Quality to die for, a weight to kill.

review by vantavia

Mionix have been a touchy subject, they brought us mice with insane tracking speeds and wonderful build quality but also brought heavy smoothing to the table which has be a source of arguments ever since.

Pros:
Insanely high malfunction speed in excess of 6.5m/s.
Premium build quality.
Wide DPI range with 50dpi steppings.
Attractive design.

Cons:
Moderate smoothing on default firmware (I'm working on getting them to release more respsonive firmware)
It's pretty darn heavy.
Giant mouse feet combined with the overall weight make for a very sluggish mouse.

Summary:
If you have the muscle to push this thing around at high speeds then it may be your mouse, for the rest of us who like agile mice it's a bit of a disappointment.

ProsCons
Unbelievable malfunction speed, no jitter (see cons), premium build quality.Moderate smoothing may annoy some people, Pretty darn heavy.
