Poor excuse for an overclocking motherboard. "Classic bull****"
review by khairlines
I was optimistic about this motherboard. I bought it for around $80. I was building a gaming PC and I just wanted a motherboard that could overclock and do the basic things. When it came, the packaging was good, looked cool, box looked nice and etc. It looked brilliant in my PC, but the troubles came when I wanted to overclock my CPU. On their website MSI raves about their OC Genie 4 and easy overclocking "Overclock in less than a second!". Unfortunately when I press the OC genie "button" in the BIOS, nothing changes. My CPU remains 3.4. I called them up and asked why there was no overclocking. MSI responded " There was overclocking, but it was so insignificant that the GHz of your CPU doesn't change.... but ya it overclocked". Classic bull****. You can't find it better anywhere else. So I took the answer, and also asked for a return.
Please, from a builder to a builder, don't buy this motherboard If your planning to overclock, save yourself the time and money. Don't go through what I went through. Search for something better.
It was never intended to be an overclocking board anyway. Did yours works normally, except for the OC part? I found it quite irrational that you badly rate a $80 non-OC , "PC MATE" board just for the overclocking disability.
