Noiseblocker NB-Multiframe M12-P Review

review by williamgayde

The Noiseblocker NB-Multiframe M12-P comes very close to being the perfect fan for me. It is quiet, pushes a ton of air, and works great on a heatsink/radiator. Noiseblocker always produces phenomenal fans, and this one is no exception.

Here is the front and side of the box. The fan uses what "makrolon" plastic on the blades and features Noiseblocker's "Multiframe" technology. This reduces vibration. Another key feature is the silicone gasket. This reduces vibration and provides a better seal for increased air transfer and pressure.

Moving to the back we see more tech specs. This fan delivers 43-78.3CFM at 12-29.3dBa. It also pushes at 2.87 mmH2O which is much greater than most other fans on the market.

Included in the box is the Multiframe fan, the silicone gasket, mounting hardware, and a case badge.

Here are some closeups of the fan

Here I have taken off one corner to show the Multiframe design. The points where the fan is mounted and the fan itself are separated. This will isolate vibration and keep the fan quiet.

Here is the silicone gasket partially removed. This gasket will go in between the fan and the case or the fan and the heatsink/radiator. The gasket will provide a tighter seal so less air will escape. This is perfect for radiators where the fan doesn't make a perfect seal. With this gasket, nearly all of the air goes through the radiator and not out the sides. If not being mounted to a radiator, the gasket will help with vibration dampening on a case.

For performance testing I used a Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme 240mm CPU Liquid Cooler and a 3570k overclocked to 4.0GHz. The fans included with the liquid cooler are very high quality and will beat out many fans. The Multiframe M12-P was an average of 3 degrees cooler bringing the temperatures down from 57.5C to 54.5C. The Multiframe also cut the noise level in half. I would never run the Water 2.0 at full speed with stock fans, but with the Multiframe, I would.

In conclusion, the Noiseblcoker NB-Multiframe M12-P is in my opinion, the perfect fan. It is quiet, performs great, and looks great. The only downside. You can get 2 average fans for the price of this fan, but if you have the money I would definitely get this fan. They are awesome.
