Nvidia Titan X (Pascal)

Pros: Best gaming solution

Cons: Wish the price was 999$

I read a lot of reviews on the web and I didn't find one that would show a clear picture for a Maxwell Titan X owner with water cooling. So in this review I put Pascal Titan X overclocked to 2000Mhz vs Maxwell Titan X at 1500Mhz. I also explore the effect the CPU clock speed has on frame rates.

My system:
Intel 5820k
EVGA X99 Micro
16Gb Corsair LPX DDR4 Memory
1TB Samsung 850 Evo
EVGA P2 1200 Power supply

I think it's very interesting how Pascal get's huge improvement from overlocking CPU. It looks like GPU finally get bottlenecked and it actually matters what CPU do you have I wonder if it's possible to get even more with an even bigger overclock.

Witcher 3 is the only game I did without any benchmarking tool and it was very weird to see Titan X performing better on stock CPU clocks I have no idea why it did that but overall Pascal Titan X has slight gains from CPU clocks.

Metro 2033 doesn't seem to be cpu limited in any way but it's an old title and I think it's not very well optimized but at least with Pascal Titan X you can finally play it on Max settings with 60+

Rise of Tomb Raider like GTA 5 shows that while Maxwell performed the same Pascal can actually benefit from higher clock speed by a lot

I've heard Frostbite engine is very well optimized and especially for multi-core cpu's but the only thing I noticed is minimal clocks rising on Pascal with clock speed but average stayed the same.

Overall i think this card is a huge improvement and I only wish nvidia would keep the 999$ price but unfortunately this is what we get. If you have original Titan X and wondering if you should upgrade hope this review helps you. Thank you.
