Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, versatile front bus, price
Cons: Cable management
I recently purchased the NZXT Apollo case for my new gaming build. The first thing I noticed was that the Apollo seemed a bit smaller than I originally thought. Nevertheless, the case is a good buy. The steel that it consists of is rugged and very stable. The side window looks good, but I went a more custom route with that. There is also a mount for a third fan in front of the hard drive bay. To install the fan there you must remove the hard drive bay and the front panel, which takes a matter of seconds. There is plenty of room for the components I chose, but the graphics card required some creative cable routing. I have had no issues with heat buildup as I changed the air flow from a side-to-back configuration to a front-to-back configuration. The Apollo comes with a host of lights in the front panel already wired up and ready to use that add to the "spacey" look of the Apollo. Cable management can become a nightmare because of the small size of the Apollo. All-in-all, this is a good case for a smaller build. If you plan on larger components like water cooling radiators and the like you should probably invest in a larger case. For a general purpose or mid-range gaming machine this case will fit the bill, and look good while doing it.
Who says cutting edge cool has to be expensive? NZXT's Apollo begs to differ. This highly affordable case doesn't need any fancy words to show its edge of cool -- one picture is more than enough. But don’t think this is just another pretty face. With 5 external 5.25" drive bays, a 3.5" external drive bay, and four internal 3.5" drive bays, this case has room for whatever you need of it. All of the external drives are protected behind a stylish door that is part and parcel of the Apollo's hot looks. Naturally, it includes two USB ports, a Firewire port, and two audio ports located on the right side of the case for easy access. The side panel has the required window with pre mounted 120mm blue LED fan, with another 120mm fan in the rear to make sure the heat from this system is just from its looks. With all this, what more could be asked of it? How about the durability of steel to protect your investment? This might just be the total package you've been looking for.
