Cons: GLOSSY PAINT, 2.5" bays are difficult, cable management space

Welcome to my first case review. This review is gonna be pretty bad.

Installation of my PC

Installing my PC was in all honesty, a pain. Took me like 5 hours, and even longer to get the cable management side panel on, which I recently only got on (the secret was not using zip ties on my cables). I absolutely despise having to take the front panel off of it, I seriously feel like I'm breaking it. It's the worst. Getting the PSU cables in there just right was also tedious because of my many cables combined with the fact that I bought sleeved cable and not the full cables. Adding my newly purchased HUE+ also made my experience even worse, because of the fact that I had to add an entirely new Molex connector. frown.gif

Likes

  • That PSU shroud is amazing.
  • Getting the fans in felt easier than with my old HAF X.
  • I like how the 2.5" bays are on the PSU shroud and the 3.5" are hidden.. I can show off my decent looking SSD and my pug-ugly hard drive is nowhere in sight.
  • Those dust filters are really fun to take on and off. Magnets are awesome, aren't they?
  • The screws on the side panels don't fall out!

What I do not like
  • My SATA power connectors are stupidly difficult to deal with on the SSD mounts.
  • NZXT, WHY THE LACK OF 162mm COOLER SUPPORT?!
  • Glossy paint got smudged. Actually, why is the black and red model and black and blue model matte finish while the black is glossy? Stop this NZXT!!
  • There isn't enough room in the back for my giant sleeved 24-pin cable to be zip tied. You need to

After dealing with that cable management, I'm in a grumpy mood. You get a 8 for this.
Noise Level

The stock fans are quiet... That's really all I can judge on the case itself. It seems to filter out the vacuum noise of my Fury, but I thankfully haven't ran it in my dusty old piece of junk HAF X. Since the fans are quiet, I'll give it a 10. thumb.gif
Performance

This case performs really well!! Wait, this isn't that kind of performance. I'm pretty sure I mean thermal performance. My CPU temperature is within one to two Celsius what it was in the HAF X, and the CRAP X had an airflow setup that will be pictured below, as is the S340's. My GPU temps can't be determined as I only ran my old 280X in my TRASH X. The hard drive temps are too hot for my liking (like 35c?) but I'm a bit picky sometimes. I'll give it a 10 here considering the size of it.

Airflow setup for both cases.

Aesthetics

10.

Oh, so you want reasoning why? Okay, look at it. It's beautiful. Let's go over the reasons why I say this:
  • No 5.25" bays that stick out like a sore thumb.
  • PSU SHROOOOOOOOOOOOOOUD!!!!
  • Placement of the 2.5" bays.
  • I don't have to see my disgusting silver hard drives. <3 NZXT
  • No ugly grommets on the back.
  • The window is a full window, not blocked off by things like crappy 200mm fans on the side.
  • The dust filters aren't visible at all.
  • The combination of sleeved cables and this case is magical for the eyes.

Is that enough?
Closing

I actually started off wishing I didn't buy this case, but it has grown on me a lot. I also noticed that my PSU filter wasn't the crappy one that should've came with it, but the one from the Elite. I only wish there was slightly more room for cables, which is one of the reasons I bought my EVOLV ATX TG. I really do like this case, and I'm definitely keeping it after my EVOLV arrives.
